I hope you are doing well, and want to begin by saying thank you for choosing Learn Physics for VCE Physics tutoring.
I have recently found out that our mean study score (36 since inception) is on par or better than Selective and Private schools in Victoria (based on schools that have published mean Physics scores). Most schools don’t publish their physics results, but publish their overall mean scores (Physics results are generally lower than the overall results). I am quite proud of our students’ achievements and the onus is now on this year’s students to keep this trend up (No pressure :D).
A study score of 38 or higher means you are in the top 15% of all students who took Physics.
To aid you with your scores this year, I would like to offer some tips:
- Study content on the same day after they teach it to you at school. Come home and read it from textbooks.
- High study scores usually require efforts from multiple parties, not just the student. You are all lucky to have parents who take interest in your studies, and tuition help at your fingertips. Use this feature – ask me questions as they arise and clear your doubts (it is a free service).
- This leads on to how parents can help further. Please try this trick: Sit down at a time your child usually studies, and read the textbook to them. You can start with just 10 mins and increase it to 30 mins over time. You do not have to understand any of it. Reading it to children lets them view content from a different perspective (and a lot of students go into exams without even knowing what is inside their textbooks).
- Remember my Google Drive is full of practice exam papers and questions. Do them!
Learn Physics – Changing Lives
I started Learn Physics as a way to give back for the awesome education and propping-up I received in my early years. In addition to helping students with school, a large part of the income is diverted towards charity projects (from inception until this year, I have kept less than 30% of the income from this business for myself). From 2024 to 2026 our goal is to cure 500 blind people from curable blindness (through the Fred-Hollows Foundation which has been vetted as one of Australia’s top NFPs). We are about a third of the way there on this goal now. By attending classes you are not only improving your skills and confidence in Physics, but making real life-changing impacts.
So do not underestimate the power of these classes – make them life-changing for you too: Focus hard during class, follow up immediately with 5 practice questions, and ask questions when you get stuck.
