I am quite happy with the efforts put forward by our students so far this year. Most of you have improved significantly with only about a couple of exceptions. Well done!

I have consulted with other teaching experts, parents and doctors for this guide, and it is presented in a way I hope is simple and practical. It’s only a few pages long and focuses on study, rather than advice on raising teenagers (sorry, I am sticking to what I know here). Please let me know if it is useful to you.
Year 11
Thank you for accommodating the shuffles in class times so that every student can study the same topic that they do in school in my classes. The shuffling should stop once Unit 2 starts.
Mid-year and End-of-year exams are totally different to SACS. These require long-term studying and committing key concepts to memory.

Year 12
Keep up the good work everyone, we are close to the finish line. Keep that consistency up, most of you are already doing all of the right things – consistent class attendance, revision on your own, reading from the textbook, practising exam questions, and developing the ability to recall key concepts.
Again, Exams are a different beast to the SACS – prepare for them now. Store key concepts in memory, be able to recall them, and apply them to different types of questions as you study your current content (checkout the Spaced Repetition method in my attached Guide).
My Unit 4 – Physics in 5 course for this year is nearly ready – it has exactly what students have been asking for – handmade compact revision lessons for each topic that saves you time. I still call it Unit 4, but it comes with almost all of Unit 3 lessons as well. Watch this space.
If anyone feels like they are falling behind and needs extra help, please reach out to me. I do not want to push for extra classes – it has to come from you. If you are keen to improve, there is always a way. I have a couple of other high-scoring past students who can help too (even with other subjects).
Learn Physics – changing lives
By learning at Learn Physics you are doing a lot more than improving your grades and having fun with this subject. A large part of the income of this business goes towards improving lives.
In September 2024 we made an ambitious pledge to cure 500 blind people by the end of 2026. I thought we were most of the way there, but it appears we’ve only contributed toward curing about 150 curable people so far. This is largely due to a mathematical error on my part (I thought 2024 to 2026 would be 3 years long, but there are only 2 years in between)! We will get there in the end – I am open to any ideas/suggestions
